Bio-Test Laboratory publishes plain-language articles about laboratory tests, preparation, results and how testing works in Ontario. This page explains how that content is produced, reviewed and kept current.
Our articles are general information for patients and families in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario. They describe what a test measures, how to prepare, what OHIP covers, where to get tested and how results reach you. They are not medical advice, they do not diagnose, and they cannot replace the interpretation of your own results by the physician, nurse practitioner or midwife who ordered them.
Articles are drafted from primary Canadian sources wherever one exists: the Ontario Ministry of Health's Schedule of Benefits for Laboratory Services and its OHIP coverage pages, Public Health Ontario, Health Canada, Diabetes Canada, the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, Choosing Wisely Canada and the relevant Canadian specialty societies. Facts about Bio-Test's own centres (hours, services, addresses, turnaround) come from our operational records and are generated from the same data that powers our location pages.
Every article carries a "Medically reviewed by" line naming the reviewing clinician and a "Last reviewed" date. Review checks that clinical statements are accurate, current for Ontario, and framed so that readers are directed to their own provider for decisions. When guidance changes, the article is updated and the date is refreshed.
If you believe an article contains an error, email info@bio-test.ca with the page address and the sentence in question. We review every report and correct confirmed errors, noting the change with a new review date.
Bio-Test does not accept paid placements, sponsored content or affiliate links in its articles. We do not publish patient-pay prices in articles; fees for uninsured tests are quoted by client services.
