About our Kanata lab

A Bio-Test Laboratory patient service centre is coming soon to Kanata. The new Kanata lab will bring OHIP-covered walk-in blood tests, specimen collection and laboratory services to Kanata, Kanata Lakes, Bridlewood, Beaverbrook, Glen Cairn, Katimavik, Morgan's Grant and Stittsville, so west-end residents no longer need to drive into Nepean for routine bloodwork. Once open, you will be able to walk in with your Ontario health card and a requisition — most tests need no appointment. Until then, the nearest Bio-Test centres are the Bells Corners main laboratory on Robertson Road and our Carp centre. The address, opening date and hours will be posted here as soon as they are confirmed.

Walk-in blood tests in Kanata: Bio-Test Laboratory is coming soon

Bio-Test Laboratory is opening a new patient service centre in the heart of Kanata to serve Kanata, Kanata Lakes, Bridlewood, Beaverbrook, Glen Cairn, Katimavik, Morgan's Grant and Stittsville. Like every Bio-Test Laboratory centre it will offer OHIP-covered, walk-in blood and specimen collection with no appointment needed for most tests, results to your provider within 24 to 48 hours, and service in English and French. The exact address will be announced shortly. In the meantime, the nearest open Bio-Test Laboratory centres are Nepean, Bells Corners and Carp, and any of our centres accepts a requisition from any Ontario provider.

Until the Kanata centre opens, use Bio-Test Laboratory's Nepean, Bells Corners and Carp centres: walk in Monday to Friday with your Ontario and a , no appointment needed, and the typical wait is under 15 minutes.

No. Like all Bio-Test Laboratory centres, blood and specimen collection will be walk-in, first come first served. Online booking for a set time will be added when the centre opens.

Yes. Tests ordered by an Ontario physician, nurse practitioner or midwife on a are covered with a valid at any Bio-Test centre. A few tests, such as vitamin D for most adults, are uninsured in Ontario and carry a fee wherever you go.

Yes. Any Bio-Test centre accepts a from any Ontario provider, and your results go back to the provider who ordered them regardless of which centre you visit.

The new centre will open with blood and specimen collection. Walk-in is at Bells Corners and Smyth, and at Bells Corners, Smyth, Parkdale and Orléans Centrum.
