How to prepare for your test
From what to bring to when you can expect results, we’ve got tips to prepare for your test. You can expect your test results in three simple steps:
Get a requisition
Visit your physician or provider to get a requisition
Find a patient service centre
Choose from Bio-Test’s seven convenient locations or request a home visit
Pay us a visit—no appointment necessary for most tests and x-rays
What you should know before your visit
When you’re ready, visit one of our patient service centres-appointments aren’t required for most tests.
- Valid provincial health card
Make sure it’s accurate and not expired.
Requisitions are valid for 6 months or the expiry date listed by your provider (whichever comes first)
- Find the right centre: Only some locations can administer x-rays and ultrasounds
- Fasting tests: Your requisition will note whether fasting is required prior to your test
Special accommodations: Let our staff know if there’s anything we can do to support you
- Wait times: Tests are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis, unless a rush request is issued by your physician
- Accessing results: Results can be accessed by your physician as soon as your test has been processed
